Beth Baker

Landscape and Fine Art Photographer

Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy the photos!

Through photography, I try to share the beauty and wonder of nature as I see it, whether that is capturing often-overlooked details, a unique perspective on a subject, or simply the magic of a particular moment in time.

On this site you will see a variety of images, reflecting my evolution as a photographer. My first love was beautiful landscape vistas. Over time, I've become drawn to more intimate nature scenes and that is what most inspires me. People often comment that my more recent photographs look "painterly", which is indeed the style that I favor and is taken as a compliment.

My passion for nature is rooted in my upbringing in rural northern Michigan. As a child, I spent a great deal of time enjoying the outdoors and first discovered the joy of photography in high school on a visit to the copper-colored Tahquamenon Falls in the Upper Peninsula. Landscape photography remained a hobby and interest for me, but was largely set aside over time as work responsibilities increased. It wasn't until much later in life that I started going on photography workshops and renewed my passion and honed my technical and artistic skills. Standing behind the camera, disconnected from the world, is my happy-place.

I am fortunate to have traveled to many amazing places to photograph and hope to be able to continue to do so. It is most rewarding when someone says they were motivated to visit a place because of a photo I’ve shared, or tells me they’ve started to notice new things around them after viewing my work. If you become so inspired, I'd love to hear about it.

Once again, thank you for visiting my website and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
